For my card today, all of the elements are from the CTMH "Frosted" collection and stamp set, which came out 2 or 3 years ago. I just love finding older stuff that I barely used or didn't use at all. It's like they're brand new again! Also a sign I have way too much stuff in my craft room but we won't go into that! Good thing I'm pretty confident my husband lies when he says he reads my blog. When I think girly themed paper crafts I automatically think Anna Griffin. She really is the queen of all things pretty and feminine in the crafting world. I made this card using a way older cardmaking kit of hers which I don't know the name of. At one point I took all my accumulated older Anna Griffin partial kits and bits & pieces and combined them into one container, so I don't know which elements go with which kit. Anyway, this card was super easy to make and all the elements are Anna Griffin except the gems which are Recollections and the clear glitter pen which is Wink of Stella. I hope you enjoy my super girly yet simple card!

Hello everyone! I'm finally back to my normal crafting routine after many weeks off, which means the fires are over and our house and property are unharmed.... Thank God! However, we continue to pray for those who weren't so lucky. It's so surreal to drive through town and realize that about half of our whole town is just gone.... burned to the ground. Santa Rosa is not alone in this as several other neighboring towns were largely destroyed as well. It's going to take this community many years to recover from this catastrophic event and rebuild entire neighborhoods.

Guest Designer!

Hello all! I hope you are enjoying the start of your weekend! Today is a very special post to me because I'm featuring a card made by our 8-year-old Goddaughter, Olive. She has made many cards and art projects and she is an excellent artist! We created a blog for her but we're just waiting till she gets a little older to get it up and running. Her blog is called Puppies & Ponies Designs but for now I'll just be posting on her behalf on my blog. She has been featured on my blog before so please click HERE if you'd like to see the post. She was 6 at the time. You'll see a picture of her there but here is a more recent one taken just a few weeks ago....

For her card she did all the drawing freehand and used Zig Clean Color watercolor markers (and some other markers which I honestly don't know exactly which ones she used, lol). I think there was a black Sharpie involved but don't quote me on that. Anyway, here is her card and she'll also be entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Kid's Challenge (link below)....

My vacation themed card was inspired by cruises. It's been insane this summer with the number of people in my life who are going on cruises.... Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Disney, and more! I thought the ombre background had a kind of watery effect and then the other elements were just fun, loud, sparkly, happy, flowery, and bright.... just like a cruise. I've only been on one but it certainly was all of those things! Afterwards I noticed that the card size is perfect for boarding passes or airline tickets, so there's an added bonus I didn't even plan.... love it when that happens!

Man-tastic Birthday Card

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! August is usually a pretty busy month in our family. It starts with my daughter-in-law's birthday on the 1st, followed by my husband's on the 3rd, then my mother-in-law's on the 5th, and then our wedding anniversary is on the 12th. Phew! Sounds like a lot but somehow we got through it all -- and even managed to have a little fun along the way ;)

Speaking of birthdays, today I'm sharing the card I made for my husband's birthday. It turned out to be one of my favorite manly cards I've ever made. As a bonus I got to utilize 2 of my unopened stamp sets. Yay! Plus I got to do some coloring which is my favorite thing to do. Double yay!!
